Cannabinoids Explained
Cannabinoid names are chemical identifiers, not reliable shortcuts for a guaranteed feeling. This page is educational and does not provide medical advice. Product availability, eligibility, pricing, and delivery details should always be confirmed in the live Nexus menu before ordering.
Learn how THC, CBD, acidic cannabinoids, minor cannabinoids, totals, and laboratory units appear on regulated cannabis labels.

Cannabinoids are compounds associated with the cannabis plant and its products.
THC and CBD are the best-known examples, but laboratory panels may list several others. Presence on a label does not establish a clinical benefit or predictable experience.
What are minor cannabinoids?
The phrase commonly refers to cannabinoids present or marketed in smaller proportions than THC or CBD.
CBG, CBN, CBC, THCV, and others may appear on panels. Research and regulation continue to develop, so sweeping sleep, energy, appetite, or treatment claims are not justified by a name alone.
Current stock, pricing, order requirements, and delivery estimates live in the official Nexus menu.
Why do units change across products?
Flower often uses percent by weight, while edibles and liquids may use milligrams per serving, measure, or package.
Compare like units and confirm the denominator. A percentage and a milligram total answer different questions.

Does a broader panel mean a better product?
No. The number of detected cannabinoids is not a universal quality score.
Quality includes lawful production, batch integrity, package condition, formulation, freshness, and personal preferences. Avoid assigning value from panel length alone.
How should cannabinoid claims be evaluated?
Separate measured content from marketing promises and medical claims.
A licensed laboratory can report what it measured in a sample. That does not prove the product will treat a condition. Use qualified medical guidance for health decisions.
Why do acidic and neutral cannabinoid forms appear separately?
The plant can contain acidic forms such as THCA and CBDA that are chemically related to THC and CBD but are reported as distinct analytes.
Heat and time can convert acidic cannabinoids through decarboxylation. Laboratory reports may therefore show the measured acidic form, the measured neutral form, and a calculated total that accounts for molecular weight. The total is not always a simple addition. Read the certificate's formula and units, especially when comparing flower with an already processed product.
The presence of THCA should not be turned into a guarantee that raw or unheated cannabis is non-intoxicating in every real-world use. Product handling, processing, and intended route matter. Follow lawful labeling and avoid improvised preparations. A chemical distinction can improve label literacy without becoming a use instruction.
How should minor-cannabinoid marketing be checked?
Verify that the named cannabinoid is actually measured in a meaningful amount and separate emerging research from claims about a finished retail product.
CBG, CBN, CBC, THCV, and other compounds may appear in laboratory panels or product names. A front label that emphasizes one compound should be compared with the per-serving and package amount. Trace detection is different from a deliberately formulated quantity. The report must also match the batch; a brand-wide educational graphic cannot establish the contents of every unit.
Research on a cannabinoid can involve isolated compounds, laboratory models, animals, doses, or delivery routes unlike the product being sold. That gap prevents a menu from translating an early finding into a promise about sleep, appetite, energy, focus, pain, or disease. Medical decisions should use qualified clinical guidance, not a minor-cannabinoid trend cycle.
What does a cannabinoid panel leave unanswered?
It does not establish freshness, flavor, contamination status outside the reported panels, individual response, medical benefit, or the condition of the retail package after testing.
A complete product review combines cannabinoid data with applicable contaminant results, ingredients, manufacturer, batch, dates, package integrity, storage, and licensed origin. Potency can be accurate while an allergen remains unsuitable for one customer or a device arrives damaged. A high number does not compensate for a failed panel or recalled batch.
The panel also cannot predict impairment with enough precision to schedule driving. Product form, amount, other substances, physiology, and context affect response. Plan for no driving rather than using laboratory numbers as a sobriety calculator. If the decision involves pregnancy, medication, a condition, or prior adverse reaction, a clinician needs more than the cannabinoid table.
How can total THC and total CBD calculations be checked?
Read the laboratory formula and confirm which acidic and neutral values are included rather than performing a simple sum from the front label.
A common total calculation adjusts THCA or CBDA for the molecular mass lost during conversion, then adds measured THC or CBD. The certificate should explain its approach. Rounding and reporting limits can create small differences between the detailed table and package. Compare the same basis and units before treating the figures as inconsistent.
Calculated total does not mean the product will convert completely during a customer's use, and it does not predict delivered exposure. It is a standardized reporting tool. Keep chemical arithmetic separate from personal use instructions and medical claims.
Why do labels list THCA and THC separately?
They are chemically related but distinct forms, and heat can convert acidic cannabinoids into neutral forms.
Some reports also show a calculated total that accounts for molecular conversion. Read the report method and label definitions before adding numbers yourself.

Questions people ask before ordering
Is THCA the same as THC?
No. They are related forms and labels may separately report them plus a calculated total.
Are minor cannabinoids proven treatments?
A retail label is not clinical evidence. FDA approval and qualified medical guidance are different from product marketing.
Can I compare flower percentage with edible milligrams?
Not directly. They describe different measurements and product contexts.
Cannabis may impair judgment and motor skills. Do not drive or operate machinery after use. Keep cannabis secured away from children and pets. Do not use while pregnant or breastfeeding. Product information is educational and is not medical advice.
