Order Minimums
An order minimum is an operating threshold for a route, not an extra product charge or a statewide legal amount. This page is educational and does not provide medical advice. Product availability, eligibility, pricing, and delivery details should always be confirmed in the live Nexus menu before ordering.
Understand why delivery minimums vary by address, what counts toward a minimum, and where to confirm the current requirement before checkout.
Check your address and shop ↗Why do delivery services use order minimums?
A minimum helps a retailer support the travel time and operating cost of serving a particular area.
Longer or extended routes may have a different threshold from core coverage. The minimum is a retailer policy, not a claim about product quality or a DCC purchase requirement.
Does every city have the same minimum?
No. It can vary by address, zone, current operations, or promotion.
Use the live address checker and checkout. Static third-party listings and old screenshots can become inaccurate.
Current stock, pricing, order requirements, and delivery estimates live in the official Nexus menu.
What amount usually counts toward the threshold?
The live cart should show the qualifying subtotal and any remaining amount.
Taxes, fees, tips, discounts, and credits may be treated differently. Do not assume the final charged total is identical to the minimum-eligible merchandise subtotal.

Can a discount move a cart below the minimum?
It can, depending on whether the policy evaluates the subtotal before or after discounts.
Apply promotions before relying on eligibility and review the checkout message. Support can clarify an order-specific calculation.
Is a minimum the same as a purchase limit?
No. A delivery minimum is a retailer threshold, while legal purchase limits cap what may be sold.
Meeting the minimum does not override legal or inventory limits. Checkout must satisfy both.
Where should the current minimum be confirmed?
Confirm it after entering the actual delivery address in the live Nexus ordering flow.
The exact address is more reliable than a city name because coverage boundaries and extended routes can differ within a region.
How can the cart show whether a minimum has actually been met?
Use the address-specific qualifying merchandise subtotal displayed after discounts and separate it from taxes, fees, tips, and the final amount charged.
A cart can total more than the stated minimum while still failing if the policy excludes taxes, fees, or a tip from qualifying merchandise. A promotion can also lower the eligible subtotal even though the undiscounted products appeared sufficient. Add the actual address first, apply discounts, and read the remaining-minimum message before selecting payment. Do not rely on manual arithmetic if the live system states a different rule.
If the calculation seems wrong, capture the cart and contact support before dispatch. Include products, discounts, address zone, and the exact message. The answer may involve an excluded item, expired promotion, zone change, or system error. Adding an unwanted product under pressure is not the only possible response when clarification is available.
Why can neighboring addresses receive different minimums?
Route distance, service-zone boundaries, jurisdiction, operational capacity, and current retailer policy can change at a finer level than the city name.
A city page describes broad coverage, not every parcel. An address near a boundary can fall into an extended route while another nearby address remains in core service. Apartments, campuses, public property, and remote roads can add eligibility or access questions. Only the live address check can connect the actual destination with the current operational zone.
Do not select a lower-minimum address where the customer will not actually receive the order. Changing the destination after dispatch can affect records, taxes, and route compliance. If several lawful private addresses are genuinely available to the customer, ask support how each is treated before ordering and use the one entered in the final transaction.
How is a retailer minimum different from a legal maximum?
The minimum is a business threshold for serving a route, while purchase limits restrict how much cannabis a customer may lawfully acquire in a transaction.
A customer can meet a delivery minimum and still exceed an adult-use or medicinal purchase limit through the combination of flower, concentrates, and manufactured products. Checkout must enforce applicable limits. Splitting an over-limit basket into immediate orders is not a valid workaround. Medical documentation changes only the rules it lawfully supports.
The minimum also does not define a recommended amount to use or keep. Buying extra solely to reach a threshold creates storage, expiration, household-access, and budget questions. A customer can decide not to order, wait until there is a genuine need, or choose another lawful shopping channel instead of treating the threshold as an instruction to consume more.
When does adding another item create poor value?
An added product is poor value when it is unwanted, cannot be stored securely, introduces equipment or allergen concerns, or exceeds the customer's budget and practical needs.
Compare the remaining threshold with the complete cost and product lifecycle. A discounted per-unit price does not offset waste, battery disposal, spoilage, or accidental-access risk. Do not use a large package merely as a cart filler without reading its label.
Waiting, using a storefront, or ordering with a genuine future need can be more rational than padding the basket. The minimum supports delivery economics; it is not a wellness recommendation or instruction to possess more cannabis.
