Delivery Etiquette
Good delivery etiquette is mostly operational: be reachable, be ready, and do not ask the driver to bend compliance rules. This page is educational and does not provide medical advice. Product availability, eligibility, pricing, and delivery details should always be confirmed in the live Nexus menu before ordering.
Prepare for a smooth cannabis delivery with accurate directions, ready identification, safe access, respectful communication, and clear tipping expectations.
Check your address and shop ↗What information helps a driver find the address?
Provide an accurate unit, gate code, entrance, call-box name, and safe parking note during checkout.
Keep instructions concise and update support if access changes. Do not redirect the driver to a different public meetup point after dispatch.
What does respectful preparation look like in a difficult-access building?
Provide precise lawful access details, remain reachable, secure pets, choose a safe meeting point at the address, and avoid making the driver search or wait unnecessarily.
Include the unit, gate, call box, entrance, elevator restrictions, and parking facts in the order. If building management limits access, arrange the approved private-property handoff with support before dispatch. Do not send the driver into a secured area without authorization or ask for a handoff at a school, public facility, neighboring property, or moving vehicle. Clear information is courteous because it reduces both route delay and safety uncertainty.
Weather and darkness matter. Turn on available lighting, clear a safe path, and meet away from aggressive animals or traffic. Keep children away from the transaction. If the driver cannot safely park or reach the destination, respond promptly and follow support guidance. Courtesy does not require either person to accept an unsafe setting.
Current stock, pricing, order requirements, and delivery estimates live in the official Nexus menu.
How should a customer think about an optional tip?
Treat it as a voluntary service decision based on personal preference and the payment options disclosed in the current order, not as a hidden compliance requirement.
There is no universal percentage this guide can impose. A customer can consider route difficulty, communication, weather, and service while remaining within their budget. Review whether the ordering platform offers a tip before or after delivery and whether the amount can be changed. Do not assume a fee goes directly to the driver or that a discount should determine gratuity without knowing the current policy.
A tip never authorizes a rule exception. The driver still must verify the recipient, use the recorded address, complete the receipt, and refuse an invalid handoff. Offering extra money to leave cannabis unattended, ignore identification, or redirect to a prohibited location is not generosity. It asks an employee to jeopardize a regulated transaction.

How can a service complaint stay factual and useful?
Record the order number, time, communication, product condition, receipt, and specific requested resolution without attributing problems the driver may not control.
Inventory substitutions, taxes, discount rules, account verification, and route estimates can originate in systems outside the driver's control. Describe what happened: the arrival message, address instruction, missing item, damaged seal, or total discrepancy. Keep products sealed and photograph relevant details. A precise record helps support separate a transaction error from a product or platform issue.
Do not post identification, home access codes, driver details, or customer account information publicly. Give the licensed retailer a chance to review the regulated record. Threats, harassment, discriminatory language, or pressure to violate rules are never appropriate. If conduct creates immediate danger, use emergency resources rather than relying only on customer service.
Why should pets be secured before the arrival message?
Even a friendly animal can block access, escape through an open gate, distract verification, or create a safety concern for a driver carrying regulated goods.
Move pets into a closed room or secured area before opening the door. Do not rely on holding a collar while also presenting identification and payment. Warn support in advance about unavoidable property conditions such as a livestock gate or working animal.
A driver may decline to enter an unsafe area, and an optional tip does not change that judgment. Safe access is a shared responsibility. Resolve the route or meeting point through support while keeping the handoff at the approved address.
What should be ready before arrival?
Have valid identification, required medicinal documentation, the checkout payment method, and the eligible recipient present.
Secure pets, turn on exterior lighting when appropriate, and keep the phone available. Preparation reduces time at the curb without rushing verification.
Can a customer ask for an unattended drop-off?
No. Cannabis needs an in-person handoff to the verified eligible customer.
A porch, lobby desk, neighbor, minor, or hidden location is not a compliant substitute. Do not pressure a driver to risk their role or the retailer's license.
Is tipping required?
Tipping is optional unless the live checkout clearly discloses a different policy.
No universal percentage is required by this guide. If a customer chooses to tip, the amount should reflect personal preference and the payment options currently available.
How should a delivery problem be handled?
Stay respectful, preserve the sealed item and receipt, and contact support with specific facts.
A driver may not control inventory substitutions, taxes, account verification, or route estimates. Photos of an unopened mismatch can help support investigate.
