First Delivery Order

A first order is easier when you separate three decisions: retailer legitimacy, product format, and delivery readiness. This page is educational and does not provide medical advice. Product availability, eligibility, pricing, and delivery details should always be confirmed in the live Nexus menu before ordering.

A calm first-order checklist covering licensed retailers, product labels, address eligibility, ID, delivery timing, and secure storage.

01

How do you choose a legitimate delivery retailer?

Verify the selling retailer's active DCC license and make sure the business named at checkout is clear.

A marketplace can display inventory from another retailer, so identify who is actually making the sale. Licensed sellers must follow California rules for age verification, testing, labeling, records, and delivery. An unusually casual seller who avoids identification or license disclosure is not a safer shortcut.

02

How should a first-time shopper approach the menu?

Begin with product format, label clarity, package size, and intended context rather than chasing the largest THC number.

Flower, pre-rolls, edibles, beverages, vapes, tinctures, topicals, and concentrates differ in handling and onset. Read the product page and package information. Nexus staff can explain menu facts, but questions about a health condition, medication, pregnancy, or treatment require a qualified clinician.

Current stock, pricing, order requirements, and delivery estimates live in the official Nexus menu.

03

What should you confirm before submitting checkout?

Check your legal name, delivery address, phone number, eligibility category, order contents, taxes, fees, minimum, and estimated window.

Live checkout is more reliable than an old screenshot or third-party listing. Include unit and gate details, keep the destination within the actual service area, and make sure you can remain available. Do not use a school, public site, or temporary meetup point as the destination.

04

What should be ready when the driver arrives?

Have your valid photo ID, any required medicinal documentation, payment method shown at checkout, and a safe meeting point ready.

The eligible person named on the order should receive it. Keep pets secured and your phone nearby. Drivers cannot leave regulated cannabis unattended or ignore a mismatch because the customer is in a hurry. Good preparation protects both the customer and the licensed employee.

05

What should you inspect before opening the order?

Compare the sealed items with the receipt and check package condition, product identity, size, and label.

If an item is missing, different from what was ordered, leaking, or visibly compromised, photograph the unopened condition and contact support promptly. Cannabis return options are limited by regulation and product condition, so raising the issue before opening provides the clearest record.

06

What comes after a successful handoff?

Store the products securely, retain the package and receipt, and make a plan that excludes driving or unsafe access.

Read the full label before use and avoid mixing cannabis with responsibilities that require alertness. Effects vary by person and format. Never share with minors, cross state lines, or leave a product where a child or pet could find it.

07

How can a first-time customer reduce the menu before comparing brands?

Choose the broad product format and practical constraints first, then compare labels within that smaller category.

Begin with questions that can be answered without predicting an effect. Is inhalation acceptable? Is compatible equipment already available? Does the product need refrigeration? Are food allergens relevant? Can it be locked away from children and pets? Is the customer willing to measure a liquid or read a multipiece edible label? These questions can eliminate unsuitable formats before potency, flavor, cultivar, or price creates noise.

Within the remaining category, compare producer, package amount, cannabinoid units, ingredients, batch information, and current total price. Do not let the highest THC number function as a beginner recommendation. A staff member can explain the difference between a cartridge and pod or locate an ingredient statement. They should not prescribe cannabis for a symptom or tell a customer that a product is risk-free. Personal medical questions belong with a qualified clinician.

08

What should be checked in the final cart rather than on a category page?

The cart is where the customer should confirm address eligibility, merchandise subtotal, discounts, taxes, fees, minimum, payment, identity details, and the current delivery estimate.

A product page can be accurate while the order still fails because the address is outside active coverage, a promotion changes the qualifying subtotal, or the account category is wrong. Enter the real destination and unit information. Review whether the minimum is calculated before or after discounts and whether the selected payment method is available. The live order total is more reliable than a third-party listing or an amount remembered from a friend's purchase.

Check timing only after the order is eligible for processing. A broad statement such as same-day delivery does not promise a particular hour. Stay available for the entire current window and avoid placing the first order just before work, travel, school pickup, or another obligation. The verified customer must be present with identification, so a narrow schedule can turn a valid order into a failed handoff.

09

How should the first delivered package be inspected?

Compare the sealed goods with the receipt, then review identity, size, formulation, warnings, ingredients, serving information, and package condition before opening.

Count items and match exact product names rather than relying on color or brand alone. A brand can sell several formulations in nearly identical packaging. For edibles and liquids, distinguish per-serving values from the full package. For vape products, verify device compatibility and look for cracks, leaks, swelling, or tampering. For flower and pre-rolls, confirm weight, unit count, and whether the product is infused. Photograph any mismatch while the seal remains intact.

After inspection, place everything into secure storage rather than leaving the order bag on a table. Keep the receipt and batch labels. Read official responsible-use guidance before any decision to consume, make a transportation plan that excludes driving, and avoid combining cannabis with alcohol or other impairing substances. A calm first purchase is one where nothing needs to be decided under pressure.
